Q: What is Student Leadership Conference (SLC)?
A: SLC is an annual event held by CityU Student Development
Service (SDS). SLC is designed to provide an opportunity for
university students from Asian Pacific region to gather together
and develop their leadership skills.

Q: What is the main theme for 2005 Conference?
A: The main theme of this year is “Your responsibility, Your Leadership? Nearly all the activities are
designed around this theme.
Q: When and where is the Conference?
A: 26 July ?3 August 2005 (9 days). It will be held in City University of
Hong Kong (CityU) and the Shenzhen University.

Programmes
Q: What will happen in the Conference?
A: There will be various kinds of activities such as talks, forums,
workshops, and presentations. All of them will be about this
year's theme and leadership. And, of course, there will be a
dinner party and sightseeing tours. Please refer to the programme schedule for details.

A: Prominent representatives from various industries.

Q: When is the application deadline?
A: The application deadline is 30 June 2005.
Q: When will I know the result? How?
A: Announcement will be announced through
website and confirmation email/ letter.
Q: When do I need to pay the application fee? (not applicable for invited parties)
A: Method of payment will be announced later together with the
confirmation email.
Q: How can I be chosen?
A: Selection of participants will be based on applicants'
leadership capacity and interests in global issues.

A: No

Accommodation Arrangement
Q: Where are we going to stay?
A: In Hong Kong: Student Residence of City University of Hong Kong. In Shenzhen: a hotel near the Shenzhen University.
Q: What kind of room is it?
A: Double room.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Accommodation fee for 8 days has already included in the
registration fee.
Q: Is it necessary to stay at the hostel?
A: Yes.
Q: Can I specify whom to share a room with? *
A: We cannot promise you at the moment but we will try our best
to arrange it for you.

Other Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will I be awarded any certificate for attending the conference?
A: Yes. Participants will be awarded a certificate upon
completion.
Q: How many students will be invited?
A: Around 150 students will be invited. Besides CityU students,
others are from overseas universities, the mainland universities,
and other universities in Hong Kong.
Q: Any special dress code?
A: Business wear for certain events. Also, participants will need to
wear the conference T-shirt, which will be distributed on the
1st day of conference, for specific events.
Q: What do I need to prepare for the Conference?
A: You may want to read some related materials and participate in
some workshops about leadership.
Q: What is the role of a group leader during the Conference?
A: Yes. The role of a group leader is to coordinate group activities and help the Organizing Committee communicate with the group members during the conference. Please indicate
your interest in the application form.
